Hey, I'm Chanelle

Counsellor, yoga teacher and somatic therapist. I've created Mindful Alignment as a sanctuary for holistic healing and inner transformation. I strongly believe that in your weakest moments the strongest version of you is waiting to be born, so whatever it is that has drawn you to my website I'm so glad that you are here.

As a Mother to a wonderful son, devoted partner and serenity seeker, my world is filled with love and light. I'm here to guide you on your path to inner peace and well-being. Through my training and certifications in counselling and yoga I offer a nurturing space for healing and growth. Nature is my sanctuary and I believe in the powerful connection between mind and body. A little bit about me

I fell into this beautiful world of healing through my own self-discovery journey. First stumbling into the wellness industry through the practice of yoga, using it as a tool to help nurture physical injuries. This led to my love of the practice, discovering other things that yoga had to offer besides the asana (movement and poses.) I was captured by the philosophy, the breath, the emotional and mental healing capacity it had for me. That's when I began my studies and certifications to become a qualified yoga teacher.
With realisation of how rewarding being a yoga teacher was, but also not being able to seek enough work to sustain a full-time career doing so, I left my other full time job in sales, taking a more fulfilling position of working in a primary school. I took on a supporting role working predominantly with children with disabilities and of a trauma background. Working there for a few years helped me discover more about myself and how much I enjoy helping others. I embarked on my counselling journey, completing multiple certifications and a diploma in counselling, I ended up transitioning from school support work to working with young adults with disabilities. Currently taking on various roles such as a mentor, support worker, counsellor and yoga teacher.
Continuous studies, work with my own mentor, supervisors, and training, has led me down the road of somatic healing and trauma informed practices. Finding an understanding and curiosity on the effect trauma can have on one has made me venture into my own business. Creating a niche in helping others, opening my doors to the possibilities has helped me to create Mindful Alignment.

Chanelle is a certified yoga teacher with a passion for healing the mind and body through mindfulness and movement. Taking her Yoga teacher trainings through Santosha Yoga Institute, her practice spans various styles including hatha, vinyasa, somatic, yin, restorative and meditation.

Chanelle teaches with the utmost intention, attention, sincerity, love and compassion.

Walk & Talk- Therapy in Nature

Counselling in nature offers many benefits that can enhance the therapeutic process and deepen the healing experience, supporting self-exploration, growth and healing. Some of these include fostering a connection with the environment. Which reduces stress and anxiety levels though a calming effect. The beauty and openness of nature can inspire creativity and encourage deep introspection, leading to breakthroughs in the counselling process.

Somatic Yoga Therapy

Counselling

At Mindful Alignment the counselling services offer a client centred approach that empowers individuals to take ownership of their mental well-being. Chanelle uses a variety of therapeutic approaches in her practice. These consist of, but are not limited to, person-centred therapy, mindfulness-based therapies, solution-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and cognitive behavioural therapy techniques. She is committed to supporting people in their pursuit of personal growth and well-being, and you can anticipate a non-judgmental and compassionate environment where you can explore your issues and work towards meaningful solutions.

Through a non-directive approach Chanelle provides a safe space for the clients to talk, self-actualise and make positive changes. Without judgment, chanelle can offer the client many benefits including, enhanced self-concept, greater trust in oneself, healthy relationships, improved communication skills, ability to express opinions and feelings, letting go of past hurt or mistakes and striving for healthy changes. These therapies can help with anxiety, depression, PTSD and other life challenges.
